Hi and Help Algerian Speakers!!!!!

Hi there, My aim of this blog is to teach myself Algerian Arabic in one year .. . . can i do it? I have no idea. I have listened to my husbands phone conversations with family and friends for the last 13 years and within the last six months i am finally getting the jist of what he is saying. I think he's afraid now. Basically, I want to learn a language that i have a fair idea whats been said but no idea how to say it back. For me there is no books or courses available where i dont have to know french first or learn proper arabic first. I am crap at French i can speak it fluently in my head same with algerian arabic (not really) but what comes out of my mouth is embarrassing and to be honest i havent a clue if its right. I am sick and tired of doing puppet hand signals and looking like a deranged monkey on speed trying to converse with family on holidays . . . enough is enough. let the english speaking petrified people like me learn something from you the natives....... are we ready ...... then lets go ....... saha! ps i can count to ten in algerian but dont ask me the time ha ha
